Seeing the success Gardner had in the 11am game, Mike McDonald tried the line shuffle himself. He had Bill St. Pierre back on defense to start the game. "It was a no brainer," said McDnoald. "We got Jeff Katz as a sub. Ask anyone and they'll tell you they'd rather have the offensive power of Katz up front rather than the inconsistent BSP." "I never listen to the hecklers," said Kats. "I play my game and never worry about what's said or written about me." John Sewie missed the game for the Blizzard, and he missed out on a team that didn't quit and didn't give up 30 shots in the third period, and held the lead for a change. "Everything just worked or us today, including Ernie's 160 foot shots," said Spuglio. "I was hitting the net for a change, and I found that passing gets you assists." "I don't think we've ever played the entire game," said Ernie. "One of us always storms off and breaks a stick. Today we stuck it out, and held on for the win." Two big goals by Spuglio in the third put the light blue team up 8-6. A sub goal by Ryan Rizzo cut the lead to just 8-7. That would be as close as the Grinches would get. "I think Billy found a home back on defense," said Rizzo. "All he's gotta do to get a point is get the ball up to guys like me, Katz, and Niemi, and we'll do the rest."
Ray Binky went pointless for the winners. |
