Napoleon Armstrong was snowed in, so Shaky Fowler had to sub in for him. John Houlihan was shoveling out his yacht, so Greg Zall subbed in for him. The Misfits were missing to C level defensemen in Mike Lanieri and the now reserve list member Dan Schwager. Luckily they found two C players in Ron Jeremy and Jeff Lupien, so the subs were fair. "Jeremy is more B plus, but Lupien is a true C player by definition," said Koz. Ron Jeremy had a pair of sub goals for the Fits. "Someone passed to me for a change," said Socia. "When you play with Zall, it's like playing with Fab." The Fits went up 6-2 after one period and it looked like Christmas dinner was done. But after sucking for a period, Smack started to hit some open nets, and the yella Wise Men clawed back in this one. They closed the gap to 7-6 after two, and managed to pull even twice in the final period before Mike Conley scored one they wouldn't get back with 18 seconds left for the 10-9 win. "They sandbagged for sure," said Rick Olson. "They're the best team, and we're the worst, and we only lost by one???" "This team is awesome," said Rob Downie for once being positive. "I don't know who subbed in for Hajen, but he was great making 30 saves for us. This is the best team ever assembled."
"And it will be the best team ever
disassembled too," noted the Commish. |
