On paper it was David vs. Goliath as the lowly
Blizzard went up against the mighty Misfits.
But on the court the Blizzard held their own
for two and a half periods before finally having their usual defensive
melt down.
Jim Desalvo was lighting the lamp with
regularity, and Sewie was assisting on just about every goal as the light blue team ran out to a 10-7 lead with 14:19 left
to play.
The Misfits would then fire 21 third period
shots on poor Kenny Plourde, with six getting by him to give the maroon
team a 13-10 win. Rob Downie scored the all important 13th goal with 44
seconds left. "They weren't smart
enough to cover Koz who was parked in front all game long," laughed Jay
Alberts at Ray Binky. "I think I threw my
shoulder out trying to set up Koz all game long," said Mike Conley.
"I think I threw my shoulder out throwing my
stick 50 times," said Mark Younkers.
"We miss Ernie I think," said Spuglio. "I'd
even trade for Dave Martini right now..."
