With Gardner out with a foot injury, it was up
to the 2nd line of Norton, Raymond, and Mason to come through to get the
Army another win.The above three
combined for 8 of the 11 goals, with Farrell, Fab, and sub Adam Karas all
chipping in with single tallies. Imagine Karas in the same sentence as Fab
and Farrell. How far some have fallen.
Higgins subbed in for Conley and sucked.
While rookie Joe Duffy looked sharp while subbing for a usually inept Jay Alberts. The Army went up 3-0 after
one period, but allowed six Misfit goals in the 2nd. The game was actually
stopped for 20 minutes in the 2nd period for a quick ceremony after Chris
Jones scored. The Misfits would score
three straight times in the third to grab a 9-8 lead. But after Fab's lone
goal and another Norton goal, the Army was back in the lead.
Then we had a rare awarded goal when Jeremy
Raymond was tripped while going in on the open net which gave us the 11-9
final.
Aside from a first period shorthanded goal,
Ryan Rizzo was hardly heard from.
