What a crazy little game this was.
After losing just minutes ago 3-2, the Icicles
ran out to a 5-0 lead over the Black Ice. But with the help of Murray, the
Ice ripped off 7 straight goals to grab a 7-5 lead early in the third.
To this point Fowler was still pointless.
He then managed to scrape up a few charity assists and tap in a couple of
Cole passes down the stretch, as the blue team pulled themselves together
to take the lead back and win 12-8.
"How do you blow a 5 goal lead, then win by four?" asked a bewildered Dave
Martini who hade one point in his teams 12 goals.
Cole matched Murray's seven goals with seven
of his own. "Taking me off the Fowler
line did wonders for our offense," said Cole.
As of this writing, Jay Rizzo as "still on his
way" to the game to play for Black Ice.
