The Snowmen are riding the back of Greg Zall, as the only team without a first round pick continues to regret the Bryan Marshall pick with every shift. Zall had the first 3 Snowmen goals as he singlehandedly kept the orange team in the game against the mighty Grinches. Some rare offense by Joe Furugori and then an even rarer shot on goal by Eben Crawford found the net as the Snowmen managed to eek out a slim one goal lead. Jeremy Socia scored on a tired Fitzy to give Frosty a 2 goal lead with 5:44 left. Done deal, right? Not so. Mike McDonald scored with 3:44 left and the lead was only 6-5. Joe Furugori then flung down Russian speedster George LB, and the Grinches would end the game on a powerplay. With Furugori in the box thinking about what he just did, the Snowmen penalty killers scrambled to kill off the final 1:17. Jordan "Jordache" Smith made a nice play by blocking a shot with his ass, but then took his time trying to clear the ball. It was taken away by the Grinches, and Scott Leyden tapped home a rebound with 11 seconds left to force the shootout. Smith was then stuffed in his shootout try by Fitzy. Each team scored twice in the shootout, and the game ended in a 6-6 tie.
"We got one win this season, and it's not with
Frosty," noted Bryan Marshall. "Perhaps Ravi will straighten out the team
when he arrives. Whenever that is..." |
