It was a tough day if you were Rob McHugh or Jay Sopp, as both goalies had a real hard time making any saves. Late in the game Sopp managed to make a few key saves, while at the other end... Hockeytown really should think about having someone draw a mural on the ceiling, because both teams spent all game looking up at it and shaking their heads. "They could probably sell some ad space up there," said Gardner. "I know today they would have got more views than Jeremy Raymond's girlfriend's myspace page." It took all of 36 seconds for the Salvation Army bell to ring. That would be the first of 27 goals on the day. That's a goal every two minutes. Sopp and McHugh went tit for tat until the end when Sopp kept the Army off the board for the final 7:55 of the game.
No sense going over the goals, as a game like
this totally skews the league stats. But we can say that Raymond and Mike
Mason look to be One Week Wonders, and that the Icicles may not be as bad
as everyone thinks, even themselves. |
