Overall top pick George Lachkey opened the
scoring, it was the first of five for the Grinches as they put the Icicles
away in the first period.
When the game was out of hand in the 2nd
period, that's when Bill St. Pierre went to work, padding some of his
stats and putting his Grinches team in jeopardy of an early downgrade.
Dave Niemi, Scott Leyden, and rookie Rob
VanBuskirk all chipped in with a goal or two for the winners.
Ex-Guitar Hero Champion Mark Dobinski
scored the all important 12th goal with 4 seconds left.
On the other side, Scott Fowler looked like a
deer in the headlights all game long. Even though he finished with a few
goals, it's quite obvious without his binky John Houlihan Fowler is lost.
Cole was back on defense and tried to make up
for the stumbling Fowler, but he kept running into his defensive partner
Dave Martini in front of the other team's net.
Hopefully the Icicles can get Jeff Lupien in
the lineup to shore up the defense in front of rookie goalie Jay Sopp.
